THE UNITED STATES ARMY EVALUATION CENTER

General Mission

The U.S. Army Evaluation Center (AEC) mission, in partnership with ATEC Test Centers and Operational Test Command, is to plan and conduct independent, integrated evaluations to determine and report the effectiveness, suitability and survivability of assigned systems. AEC serves as the Army’s independent evaluator providing essential information to Army senior leadership.

Day in the Life

AEC independently evaluates all Army systems: synthesizes data across all sources, determines test adequacy and data credibility, clearly articulates system performance, and provides decision makers knowledge and understanding to support acquisition and fielding decisions. This is accomplished through a mix of both technical and administrative staff working in concert to accomplish the mission.

Local Attractions

Located in the northeastern portion of Maryland, ATEC HQ’s location gives plenty of access to the Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore, Annapolis, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia. There are also many historic parks and trails to explore. History

AEC was established 1 October 1999. It was the result of combining the Operational Evaluation Command and the Evaluation Analysis Center in order to streamline developmental and operational evaluation into a single, integrated command.
