ATEC IS LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES, ALASKA, AND HAWAII. DURING ANY GIVEN DAY, APPROXIMATELY 1,100 TESTS ARE ONGOING IN THE UNITED STATES AND AROUND THE WORLD.

U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) HQ is located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. ATEC has a unique mission to conduct independent test and evaluation for each piece of equipment before it is sent out into the field.

U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) is located in Dugway, Utah. DPG is responsible for testing and evaluating nearly all Department of Defense (DoD) chemical and biological defense capabilities. Within its nearly 800,000 acres, there are numerous state-of-the-art laboratories, unique test chambers, and extensive field test grids.

U.S. Army Evaluation Center (AEC) is located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.  AEC is a trusted advisor to Army Senior leadership, ensuring Soldiers receive operationally effective, suitable, survivable and safe equipment.  Simply put: it doesn’t make it to a Soldier’s hands without first passing through AEC’s hands.

U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) is located in White Sands New Mexico. WSMR is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) largest, fully-instrumented, open air range. Main focus areas are air defense and fire support systems; rocket and guided missile systems; integrated and precision fire control, and fire distribution systems.

U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground

U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) is located in Yuma, Arizona, but has 3 major locations:

Yuma Test Center (YTC) is located at Yuma, Arizona. YTC accommodates 360 flying days per year and provides 200 miles of robust, grueling mobility test courses with extreme desert temperatures to challenge personal and equipment in a realistic environment. 

Tropic Regions Test Center (TRTC) has facilities in Hawaii, Panama and Republic of Suriname, a sovereign state on the northeastern Atlantic coast of South America.  You will perform essential, real-world testing that cannot be duplicated in a test chamber. 

Cold Regions Test Center (CRTC) is located in Fort Greely, Alaska.  CRTC is the only Department of Defense (DoD) natural environment test facility for military systems required to operate in cold weather regions.
